Simona Romano is degree in architecture
at the Politecnico of Milan in 1998.
From 1998 to 2001, she worked as assistant curator for Alessi Museum with
responsibilities for the current and historical photographic archives. From
2001 to 2005 she was Museum Curator for the Kartell Foundation. She was
also an executive member of the National Association of Company Museums
(Museimpresa) and project leader for the new system of design museums planned
by the Province of Milan (Milano Città del Progetto). She was a member
of the team commissioned by the Regione Lombardia to create a ministerial
archiving standard for design objects.
She has written articles for architecture and design magazines as Abitare,
Domus and diid disegno industriale.
She is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Faculty of Design and Arts
of the University Iuav of Venice, with a thesis on Indian design, following
a “cross-cultural design” approach.
She is the curator of the Vico Magistretti’s archives and collection.
