Suzana Laub is graduated in Architecture
(1992) at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of University of São
Paulo – FAU USP (Brazil), obtained her master degree in Marketing
and Management (2004) at the Getulio Vargas Foundation – FGV (Brazil)
and is currently developing research and integrating the PhD in Product
and Communication Design at the University Iuav of Venice, faculty of Arts
and Design, Venice (Italy).
After her University graduation she wins the IAESTE trainee scholarship
(1992-3) and follows an exchange program in Germany.
Returning to Brazil, works as a graphic designer, collaborating to the studios
of Gabriel Kalili, Emile Chamie and Alexandre Martins Fontes, taking part
in projects at the fields of corporate identity; catalogues; merchandising;
packaging; editorial design; institutional communication; exhibition, fair
and shop furniture; signalization and many others.
Suzana Laub becomes a member of ADG/Brazil (graphic designers association).
At 1995 integrates the design team of Martins Fontes Publishing House and
at 1997 receives the invitation from Ática, the biggest publishing
house of the country, to be Art Editor of the Children and Youth Literature
Department, becoming further its Art Director and winning several prizes
and contests.
In parallel to her professional activity, participates in national and international
graphic design, typography and illustration congresses, workshops and specialization
courses.
At 2004-5 decides to go further on her design studies and moves to Italy
where she wins a PhD scholarship within the faculty of arts and design of
the University Iuav of Venice. Since 2006 she is conducting her PhD research
project: “The interface design of food packaging” concerning
about the user interaction; the packaging usability, functionality and performance
and environmental issues. |
