Kristian Kloeckl is conducting design research with Carlo Ratti's SENSEeable City Laboratory at MIT and the Iuav University of Venice, where he has been involved in the setting up and teaching of the master in medical design. He has been holding design classes in different international institutes.
His PhD research project deals with aspects of "connections" within the realms of design, considering how connections between physical entities and physical-virtual elements constitute one of the critical aspects in every phase of the design discipline.

Besides his academic work and research activity, Kristian Kloeckl has collaborated with the studios of Giulio Ceppi and Antonio Citterio in Milan before opening his own design activity in Venice in 2003. He works on projects related to product, graphics and concept design in various fields.
