Venerdì 15 giugno, dalle 9.00, a Venezia saranno presenti Jorge Frascara, docente dell’Università di Alberta (Canada) e Guillermina Noël – che ha conseguito un Master in comunicazione visiva presso lo stesso ateneo – che svilupperanno temi della comunicazione visiva e dell’interazione.
Frascara presenterà due progetti realizzati recentemente, in cui ha cercato di ottimizzare le funzioni comunicative tramite un metodo molto accurato. Per fare questo, ha cercato di basare le proprie decisioni sulla conoscenza disponibile dei fattori umani, principalmente quelli percettivi e cognitivi.
Noël invece presenterà un progetto user-centered – si tratta di un board game – realizzato per aiutare persone malate di afasia, a causa di danni subiti al cervello. “In un’area altamente specializzata come quella degli studi sui problemi neurologici, la comunicazione visiva può aiutare i terapisti ad aumentare e accrescere i loro strumenti.”

Jorge Frascara is Professor Emeritus, University of Alberta. He has published more than 50 articles and nine books, the last two being Communication Design and Designing Effective Communications. He has delivered lectures in 26 countries, has been an advisor for several journals and educational institutions, and an officer of several design organizations. He works on information design and traffic safety communications.
He is an Advisor to the Doctoral Program in Design at the University of Venice.

Guillermina Noël completed her Visual Communication Design degree at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, where she worked as designer and instructor until 2001 when she emigrated to Canada. In 2006 she received her Master of Design degree in Visual Communication from the University of Alberta, where she took additional graduate courses in research methods in Educational Psychology, and taught Design Fundamentals at the Department of Art and Design.
She has published articles in books and journals, and has presented her research in design in Argentina, Canada, Cuba, Spain and Sweden. Her professional work includes exhibitions and printed materials, and concentrates on information design and design for socially relevant issues.
